Event Title: Code Red in DSU
The recent “Code Red in DSU” event, inspired by the hit series Squid Game, was a thrilling 24-hour marathon that tested participants’ skills, creativity, and determination. Teams of three competed in a series of intense rounds, starting with Red Light, Green Light, where they answered challenging questions under strict time limits. This was followed by the Honeycomb Challenge, where participants solved HTML puzzles to earn the right to choose their teammates. The event’s highlight was the combined Tug of War and Glass Tile Game, an 18-hour test of web development prowess, where teams integrated assigned elements into their website designs. The final round saw teams presenting their polished websites to judges, vying for the ultimate cash prize. The event concluded with a grand ceremony, celebrating the winners and acknowledging the creativity and problem-solving skills of all participants. “Code Red in DSU” was a remarkable success, leaving everyone eager for the next challenge.

I think the judging criteria and the judges weren’t upto the level . The judges weren’t upto date/familiar with the latest technologies in the industry coz in the last round my team used very famous tech stack used by many big companies and it’s very hard to operate it ,if it was someone who knew about web development they would have awarded the first prize just by listening the framework used by us. The websites of the candidates in the last round had many mistakes which was ignored by judges , technically they should have reduced point for those mistakes. Mistakes like- 1)sign up ,login page was on same page just stacked upon eachother,0 ui/ux points for that ,2)sign up ,login page wasn’t working of one of the winner it was just redirecting to a static page 3) this is my point of view- 1st prize winner weren’t even using database.they were using API for it and it was biased coz they were 1st years …..whereas our website had database, framework, working sign up login page which was following rules of UI/UX ,we had payment integration tool, modern ui/ux with possibly no errors and unique topic. And I think the points from 1st round and 2nd round should have been added to the last round. Well I hope ,next time the judges are called from outside if not budget then atleast the judge should be well versed in the domain of the event. Well don’t ban me for saying truth and I hope I’m anonymous..well it’s fine let them know my presence.
We understand and appreciate your point of view. While the judges’ decision is final, we want to acknowledge the effort your team put into the event. We are grateful for your feedback and will certainly take it into consideration for future events.
