Hosted by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Build It , was a combination of 1-full day workshop followed by 6-hr hackathon. The Hackathon was initiated by CaptainSide”, a startup organization that brings NFTs and Gaming under the same roof, with the purpose of recruiting interns for the startup where the interns will be paid 7k per month for the 6 months. In addition, Captainside sponsored the first prize of Rs 5000/-.
The BuildIt Workshop, held on 25th November 2024, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., was an enriching experience aimed at imparting practical knowledge in modern web development tools and technologies. The event began with an inspiring address from the Chairman, who encouraged all participants to engage actively with the hands-on sessions and motivated them to participate in the upcoming hackathon. This set a positive tone for the workshop, fostering enthusiasm among the attendees.
BuildIt 6-hour hackathon held on 27th November 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., was organized to connect talented individuals with a growing startup in search of an intern. Participants were given an unfinished project and asked to complete it based on specific requirements. The challenge tested their technical skills, creativity, and ability to work under time constraints, while encouraging collaboration and innovation. It also provided a valuable opportunity for participants to showcase their problem-solving abilities and network with potential employers. The event was designed to not only foster teamwork but also to create a meaningful connection between talent and the startup’s needs.
Objectives:
The objectives of workshop and hackathon:
1. To provide technical know-how and hands-on experience to the participants on the modern tools and languages used for building and deploying modern web applications.
2. To provide participants with the opportunity to demonstrate their technical expertise by completing an unfinished project, while adhering to the specifications provided by the startup.
3. To facilitate networking between talented developers and the web3 gaming company, allowing the company to identify potential interns who can contribute to the growth and innovation of their projects.
The workshop saw 123 participants, including students from the 1st, 3rd, and 5th semesters, offering a well-rounded mix of both beginners and more advanced learners.
